Grandma Dorothy

Grandma Dorothy:  Great woman, loving mother, wonderful grandma, and a proud great grandma.  I remember the day when I told Grandma Dorothy I was pregnant.  I knew she wouldn't approve since I wasn't married.  But as stern as she was in her beliefs, I knew that she'd understand.  Grandma had eleven children- I just couldn't imagine (my 3 are hard enough).  Her wisdom and patients are something that every woman desires.  Grandma Dorothy held Jeremiah so proud when we came to visit.  Jeremiah was only her second great grandchild but it wouldn't have mattered if he was the 100th.  She had enough love and generosity for everyone.  Grandma Dorothy passed away months before Brian and I were married and I am sad that the kids didn't get to know her as well as me.  Her wit, wisdom, and love is something that everyone should experience.  I know she would be joyous looking at the great family I have now.  Thanks Grandma for everything!

Paper:  Wild Wasabi, Groovy Guava, retired designer series paper, Whisper White;  Accessories:  White gel pen, chipboard, sponge daubers, retired ribbon, stampin' dimensionals, and paper snips

Let Us Color

"LET US COLOR"

I just love these pages.  My dearest niece Abigail is such a cutie that you can't ever say no to her.  Almost everyday for a whole month, when Uncle Brian got home from work, she would "ask" him to color with her at her little table.  And of course, Uncle Brian would give in and color Elmo and other Sesame Street characters with her.

This set of pages was created for my Wishful Wednesday class that was held on Sept 1st.  If you are interested in this class please visit my Stampin' Up! website for more details.

Supplies used:  Cardstock:  Basic Grey, Not Quite Navy, Old Olive, Very Vanilla, and Cherry Cobbler; Ink: Not Quite Nacy, Old Olive, and Cherry Cobbler; Accessories:  Broadsheet Alphabet Set, Scallop Border Punch, Old Olive Brads, Piercing Tool, Mat Guide, Wide Striped Old Olive Ribbon, and White Gel Pen

Just a little VENTING!!

I know I made this blog to share with you my creativity.  But I thought that I needed to vent a bit and it sorta goes along with scrapbooking.

Wednesday, my oldest son Jeremiah, asked me to use my camera since he was going on a field trip.  He's used it before and since it's waterproof and shatter proof, I said yes.  Well to by disbelief (cause really I didn't want to believe what he was trying to tell me) HE ERASED ALL THE PICTURES ON MY MEMORY CARD.  Since I try to download pictures every other month (help me to keep them in order), I had all of April & May's pictures on the card.  Normally this wouldn't be that big of a deal, but April was quite eventful in our family.  Brian and I attended our first Brewer's game and Alex had his 1st communion.  It also had all the pictures from my regional meeting for Stampin' Up! and several GREAT pictures of the daycare kids.

I think one of the reasons why I feel so bad about it though, is because I was going to download all the pictures from the card and decided not too.    UUUGGGGGGG!

I can't really say much more.  I am going to try and find out if there is SOME MIRACLE out there that can get my pictures off the card but I'm not keeping my hopes up.

Best Buds

What silly boys?!?  Trent and Jeremiah loved to sit together in the BIG chair.  The could both sit next to each other and just have fun.  I still own this chair...it was one of the first pieces of furniture I got when I moved out of my parent's house.  I found it at St. Vincent de Paul...I still have it (in the garage- for those of you who've attended event in my garage).  I loved to sit in that chair too...it was so comfortable...you could swing your legs over the side and relax.  It moved with me when Brian and I moved in together (of course with the kids too).  Then onto our next apartment when I was pregnaunt with Alex.  And finally to our house (where we live now).  It seems like more than a chair at this point....it's a memory of fun.  If only we wouldn't have broken the one side...I'd still have it in the house :)

Stampin' Up! Supplies:  cardstock: Always Artichoke, Bashful Blue, Creamy Caramel, and Very Vanilla; Varsity Alphabet; Various Buttons.  For the background I used the ink to paper (SMEAR) technique.

Alex and Grandma

Oh those were the days....little Alex and my Mom.  These shots were taken during Jeremiah's birthday party at Wildwood Park.  It was a gorgeous day and family and friends were having a great time.

Even though Alex was only about 8 months old at the time, he too was enjoying the party.  Of course, when I showed Alex (now 8) this scrap book page yesterday, all he could say is "It's weird."  I asked him, "Why do you think it's weird?"  And he couldn't reply WHY.  But then I asked him, "Is because of the flowers I used on your scrap book page?"  Alex didn't say yes but shyed away with a grin and look of embarassment.

If you don't know by now, I have three boys.  I love using the "not so boyish" papers and embellishments...because it looks good.  I'm not sexist when it comes to scrappin' :)

Supplies used:  all supplies were Stampin' Up!: Designer Paper (too old from 2006), So Saffron, Bashful Blue Textured, Always Artichoke, and Natural Vanilla Cardstocks; Double Stitched Bashful Blue and Designer So Saffron Ribbons; So Safrron Flower Bads from Assortment; Sherbet Designer Buttons; Stampin' Dimensionals; and two alphabet sets that aren't current (will post names once I find out from my sister what they're called).

Sweet Scoops

Here are some samples from Convention for this new Stamp Set!

I am very excited about this new set: Sweet Scoops.  It reminds me of the old ice cream shop that was in the mall when I was a child.  I LOVE waffle cones and my favorite ice cream flavor was Bubble Gum.  I would save all the little squares of gum until the end and eat them all together.  This is a great set for anyone and your child hood memories.

Lady Bug Ryleigh

This memory can and tin set was an order placed for soemone attending a baby shower.  We coordinated the patterns to the bedding that will be in little Ryleigh's room.  I made the lady bugs with punches (those dots were a pain but aren't they cute!).  Colors used are Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa, Regal Rose, Pretty in Pink, and Very Vanilla.

Please let me know if you're intested in a Memory Tin or Can.  I love making them up...especially when they're personalized!

Easter Boxes

I wanted to make up a couple boxes for Easter that could be nice small gifts for co-workers or friends.  Allt he boxes are silver foiled around the edges.  I will be filling them with some "nummy" candy!  I am set up at my sister's work place on Thursday and thought that they might go over well. The chicks and the egg are from a current stamp set called "A Good Egg."  The bunny is from a retired hostess set (Christina had it and created this box).  Happy Easter everyone (another holiday will soon be here before we know it).

BIG SHOT CLASS

This coming weekend at the Stampin' & Scrappin' for Madison Elem School I am hosting a BIG SHOT CLASS.  This class will use two items for the Big Shot on each  card.  We're doing 3 cards total for $5.  Here's a sneak peak at one of the cards.  I may be doing this class in my home, once I get my monthly events squared away...uggg.

The scallop flower is fabric...almost like a felt....from the scallop 2 die.  And the background uses one of our newest embossing folders....perfect polka dots.

Jr. Pee Wee Football

I figured I would scrap the pictures for Jr. Pee Wee Football.  If I scrapped them, then I wouldn't loose them since these were taken professionally.  Jeremiah and Trenton were on the Columbus Jr. Pee Wee Football team.  Brian helped coach too.

For the background I used textured Night of Navy and stamped the images from Just Football all over in the same color.  I then swiped the background using pad to paper technique.  For the titles I used the Varsity Alphabet along with the Stamp A Ma Jig to get the letters lined up properly.  Some simple matting using Summer Sun and Whisper White completed the pages.  I stamped and cut out some images from Just Football to add some dimension and football related diecuts.

Baby Girl Memory Pail & Tin Set

What a cute set for baby's first year!?!?!   On this memory can & tin set, I used certainly celery, baja breeze, and pink piroquette (last two are retired).  The alphabet set is taffy.  I used chipboard for the hearts and since I didn't have craft ink for the two retired colors, it was a bit of a challenge.  But I figured it out (emboss them white first, add your color to the white, and emboss with iridescent ice to finish).  I just love making these sets.  I know they'll be cherish forever.  This set was an order that I was just finishing up.  A set costs $33 or if you just want the memory can it's $18 and the memory tin is $20.  Let me know what you think!

I am really enjoying scrapping every few weeks over at my sister's house.  Sure it's a pain in the butt to pack up what you "think" you'll be using...but it's a lot better than not getting anything done.  And I know I always hear that people never have time to scrap...well this year...I'm MAKING time!  That doesn't mean that my house isn't going to stay clean or I'm not involved in my children's lives...it just means, I'm taking time too...to do what I love!  But anyways...one to the pages!!!!
