I've been looking around for inspiration and challenges to help enhance my creativity. I had the day after Labor Day off and found this SU! Colour Challenge on Facebook. They host a monthly challenge to use different colors. Here is what I came up with!
The color challenge included: Magenta Madness, Petal Pink, Mango Melody, Balmy Blue, and Granny Apple Green. Since there was this lovely green color, I went towards nature. In nature there are so many bright bold nature hues I knew it would be a wonderful match.
Another thing I love is unusual colored Christmas Cards. So I grabbed one of my favorite holiday sets. Peaceful Boughs (pg 57 Annual Catalog). Of course, I didn't want to make a Christmas card yet, so I added in the thanks die cut from Well Written die set (pg 183 annual catalog).
I wanted to add a mixture of stamping with die cut images. The plain solid colors didn't look right but after adding a little sponging in the same color...everything popped! The stamped pine swap in the background anchored the pine bouquet. I also needed some Balmy Blue ribbon, so I colored it using the Stampin' Blends. This is just a white crinkled seam binding ribbon and now it matches perfectly!
Beautiful cards!
