Craft Challenge Blog Hop: Sketch

Good day everyone!  I woke up this morning and my phone said...you have an event today.  And it was for this blog!  So I quickly created this card and got this blog ready.  Since I had my Facebook live last night, I was inspired by those creations to make this one.  I hope you enjoy this little technique.

Today's challenge was this sketch.  I love to see how one person's vision is totally different than another's using sketches.  That's why CASE is very important in our creative lives.  Create and Share Everything-- don't be afraid of what you've made-- you never know who will be inspired by it!

I did a sorta watercolor technique.  I used watercolor paper, spritzed it with water, and then stamped right on top three different times.  Since I was using the full butter fly stamp set, I just focused on one side of the large stamp.  (there is a video below showing the technique)

I really love how messy it turned out.  You can see some of the images very clearly and then others not at all.  I love this about watercolor, every time it turns out differently.

I added gold to this card to make it pop!  A little heat embossing, a little gold foil, and then a couple of gold gilded gems.  Below are the cards I made on my Facebook live with this same technique...so different!

Here's the YouTube video showing the technique that I used.  Not sure why it's coming through like that...but it is what it is and we have to deal with it.  Here's a link if the video below doesn't work properly FB Live 4.27.21 Replay

As always, make sure to visit all the other lovely participants in this blog hop and leave me a comment!  I really appreciate it :)

Share It Sunday: Sprial Dye & Timeless Tropical Stamp Sets

Seriously...didn't know if I would get this together on time.  But here I am at 9:35 am with a 10am deadline taking pictures and getting it done!  I love the Share It Sunday blog hop.  This hop you can showcase whatever you want!  So there's lots of different fun things.  I hope you enjoy this creation I made yesterday.

I have been playing around with some of my new stamp sets.  The NEW one here is called Spiral Dye.  It's the large background that kind of look like tye dye.  I stamped it over a new designer series paper pack:  Hand-Penned.  This DSP contains floral images on one side and these awesome washed images on the other.  I chose the Pal Papaya polka dots one and stamped over the top in Polished Pink....both of these are our new 2021-2023 In Colors...and are amazing!

For the flowers, I used Timeless Tropical stamp set.  This is a carryover set, so it's in the current catalog.  So easy to stamp just using a single color and you get so much depth.  I did snip the petals inward on the large hibiscus flower to give it just a little more dimension too.

And I brought in another in new in color:  Soft Succulent!  The ribbon and the leaves are stamped in that hue.  I mean...seriously...check those In Colors out!

And just a little stamping on the inside.  Thanks Shawn for the suggestion of something tropical and Cathy for having the stamp set with...which was crazy.  We were at a small crafting gathering at a semi local bowling alley.  Right...we are crazy crafters and we will get together and have fun anywhere!

Speaking of having fun...

Don't forget I have my NEW CATALOG BINGO Coming up!  More details here

And if you want to get your items on some new goodies, I do have my Product Share Posted as well!

As always, please visit the other blogs in this hop and leave a comment!

Retiring In Colors Blog Hop

This time of year is so sad and exciting at the same time.  We have to bid farewell to 5 amazing colors that we've come to love.  My favorite color in this set is Pretty Peacock.  I know...crazy right...it wasn't the Purple Posy.

So I grabbed the Pretty Peacock to use as an accent color on this card.  Along with that, I also used Seaside Spray, which is retiring too.  While these items are while supplies lasts...and I know quite a few are already gone...I would check out what's left.  Even though they retire from the catalog doesn't mean they have to retire from your heart.

One of my favorite things about using the InColors is the fact that Stampin' Up! provides us with ribbons and accessories that will coordinate nicely with them.  Here is the InColor ribbon...perfect match!

I paired up a few other hues with the InColor ones:  Highland Heather, Gorgeous Grape, and Mossy Meadow.

For surely I will miss the Beautiful Friendship Stamp Set.  The details in the florals made this set super easy to work with.  One step stampin at it's finest.

I hope you enjoyed my card!  Feel free to leave me a comment and don't forget to visit the other blog posts as well!

Have a great day!   -Elizabeth
