Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop: Biggest Heart

This month's theme for the Stampin' Dreams blog hop is Gratitude.  I love this especially at the beginning of the year.  It's great to be thankful for things but you also need to show gratitude and what better way than a personalize card.

I love this saying in the Happy Labels Stamp Set.  You've Got the Biggest Heart.  Those around us that are always giving of themselves, typically don't even notice they are doing that.  Always doing what they can for others without expecting anything back is truly someone with the biggest heart.  I like to think this is true mostly in our stampin' community.  I love sharing ideas and giving back to the community in numerous creative ways.  I hope you enjoy this card and are able to share it with someone deserving.

I used the Framed Florets dies for the oval of hearts.  When I ran it through the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine, I already had the designer series paper added to the front of the card base.  You do get a little bit of an impression around but I think it looks wonderful and you can peek through to the inside of the card.

For a bit more BLING, I added the heart punched our of Blackberry Bliss cardstock painted with Wink of Stella using the Country Bouquet punch.  Of course, a little bit of Fine Shimmer paper under the ribbon for some sparkle as well.

Don't forget that you can add subtle texture too.  With the ribbon and then the edge of the greeting, you bring out those little details that made all the difference.

Make sure to check out all the other blog posts today!  I am sure they are spectacular :)

New Catalog Blog Hop & Unicorn Class To Go

Oh my goodness, this is one of my favorite times as a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, NEW CATALOG TIME!  And this one is going to be one of the best minis for sure!

When I received my copy of the Mini Catalog at our demonstrator event in November, I wasn't going to get this bundle.  I saw a demonstration with it and everything and it wasn't on my radar at all.  Then I started seeing posts from other demonstrators and I accepted an invitation to make projects for a swap.  One of the bundles left for the swap was this one, Country Bouquet Bundle.

The Country Bouquet Bundle includes a stamp set with images and sentiments, which I do love those types of stamp sets.  It also comes with a punch...and I love those too.

So even though this wasn't a bundle I think I needed, I love it.  I am offering a class with this awesome bundle.  It will include the card seen here, another simple fancy fold card, a treat holder, and a 8x8 art piece or slim line card- whatever you prefer.

(I will have frames for sale too if you need it).

This picture is horrible but it is what it is :)

Technique Tuesday: Heat Embossed Dots

Today's blog post is showcasing Heat Embossing. I know this technique can be a smidge intimidating but trust me, the results are amazing. Join me and my colleagues as we focus on this amazing method.

One of my favorite things to do when heat embossing is to do this on top of the metallic paper.

For this card, I used Rose Gold Specialty Paper with Copper Embossing Powder. Included in the Rose Gold Specialty Paper pack are 3 different finishes: iridescent, matte, and metallic. For my card I used the metallic finish which is a just like a shiny foil.

Stampin' Up! offers 2 packages of embossing powders. The first group includes black, clear, and white while the second grouping has copper, gold, and silver.

I thought that the copper hue coordinated the best with the rose gold paper. To contrast the metallic background, I brought in Blackberry Bliss and Basic White colors.

Now let's not forget the other rose gold item we carry, Rose Gold & White 5/8" Striped Ribbon.  As you can see in the above picture, I used the Stampin' Blends to color the ribbon, light Blackberry Bliss.

You can also see the added texture on the saying the ring of cardstock too.  Texture is one of the things I really love on a card.  I can add a bit more by using Stitched dies or the edge of my paper snips to rough things up.

Below you will find a shopping list for everything except the stamps and pearl embellishment.  These items are from the new Mini Catalog (Jan-April 2023) that starts on January 5th.  Please reach out with any questions!

Visit all the other awesome blogs.  I would love it if you would leave me a comment and share my post as well.
