Friends are Like Seashells: Share It Sunday Blog Hop

It's already time for Share it Sunday Blog Hop which takes place on the last Sunday of the month.  I love this hop as we can make whatever whatever fancy little thing we want to create.

My creation features the Friends Are Like Seashells bundle.  I was going for a natural beach look and then added a pop of color.

To get the effect I wanted for the seashells, I added all the images to one large block.  I inked everything in VersaMark and then inked right over in Crumb Cake.  After stamping, I used clear embossing powder to seal in the crumb cake vibrancy.

Next, I used Champagne Shimmer Paint and a blending brush to cover the seashells in this fine glitter shimmer.  I also used this technique over the top of Sahara Sand cardstock to give the "sand" a glittery morning sunshine gleam.

The texture of the ribbon with the gold along with the elements of the seashells adds needed life to this slim line card.  The stamped tone on tone "sea weeds" brings in depths as well.

The inside of the card is finished with a gold embossed saying and a few leftover shells, with shimmer of course.

I hope you enjoyed my Share It Sunday project.  Make sure to visit the other creations in this blog hop.

Thank you for visiting!  -Elizabeth

Flowering Cactus Product Medley

This is one of my favorite things that Stampin' Up! offers...the product medley.  And why oh why do I like this so much?  It's a no brainer!  Order one exclusive box of goodies...seriously...a stamp set, die set, embellishments, and amazing designer series paper for $70!

And if you're lucky, you can get this medley for half price with a qualifying show.  And right now, you even get a Sale-A-Bration FREEBIE too!  Now is the time to dive into this amazing medley.

My card features the dsp.  One design has these precisely colored cacti images and since you get the dies...you just cut them right out!  Super easy peasy!  I chose two images to die cut out using my awesome Mini Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine.  Also with that machine, I did add some embossing to the calypso coral cardstock layer (I think I grabbed an embossing folder that was in the past mini catalog---so may not be current).  The designer series paper strip down the side needed to have all the colors featured in the rest of the elements of my card.

Finishing touches included a strip of Highland Heather cardstock.  Grab your favorite punch to finish the edge of your saying strip.  After adding the flower felt pieces, I needed just a little something for an embellishment to tie it all together...and the basic pearl did just that.  This card really showcases the beauty of the exclusive designer series paper you get with this Flowering Cactus Medley.

Donkey Scraps: Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop

Welcome to the Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop.  Today's hop features "What's New?"  Kind a way to celebrate the new year, new ideas, new things.  I hope you find my card "new" in a way too.

For my project I used the DARLING DONKEYS.  This stamp set is so much fun and it's  FREE during Sale-A-Bration.  If you don't know what this awesome time of year is, don't worry, just visit my SPECIALS page to find out more info.  ($50 orders receive freebies!!!)

My project came to mind when I was cleaning off my scraps by my cutter.  These 1/2 inch strips were just right there and I was going to just toss them in the garbage.  Then I kind of liked the colors together and this card was born.  This goes to show that you just never know where your inspiration will come from.  The 1/2 inch strips are created when you cut mats and other things.  Now I will for surely be keeping an eye on those for quick easy cards.

I did cut a layer to adhere my scraps to.  The layer is in Blackberry Bliss, the same color as my card base.  I put tape around the whole outside of the layer as close to the edge as possible.  Then you just add your strips, any angle you want, and snip off the hang over pieces.  Pretty simple and yet so striking and beautiful. (if I do say so myself).

Of course, to color Mr. Jack, I used my favorite coloring tools, Stampin' Blends.  At first I wasn't sure how Blackberry Bliss hair and Calypso Coral feet would look, but I do really like him.
