Silly Nieces

It's not often I have a day off and get to spend it with my nieces Abigail and Lilly.  We just love to have fun and be silly. ..i mean what are Aunties for? 

I asked to take a picture of them in front of the tree and this is what they did.  How am i supposed to be mad at these silly girls?

We had plenty of laughs all day long.  Such silly girls keep things funny, interesting,  and of course awesome!

I guess when I tickle them they can be pretty silly too.

Lilly carefully decorated the bottom of the tree.

Abigail got to decorate the middle of the tree.

Oh and of course we needed to have icecream for brunch.

It's the day after Thanksgiving so ONTO Christmas!!!  I love "Black Friday" not so much for what everyone associates this day with, but for the fact that we are past Thanksgiving and now I can decorate for Christmas.  I love bringing the totes up from downstairs and remembering all the cute trinkets I have to go on the tree, hang outside, and all around.  My kids on the other hand, don't like it as much as I do...maybe someday.

This year though to get into the Christmas cheer, my nieces Abigail and Lilly will be over to help!  That'll definitely put me in the Christmas mood.  Today's card features the product bundle Jingle All the Way .  This is a great set for everyday cards...not just the holidays.

The card I made was a 4x4 trifold card.  I made it from a 12x4 piece of cardstock.  I really like how easy it was to line the thinlits up with the card stock and run it though the big shot.

Of course I had to add some glitz with the Gold Sequin Trim.

On the inside I heat embossed.  I mixed the gold embossing powder with the gold glitter to give it a little different glimmer.

Colorful Happy Birthday!

Did you ever have one of those cards when you seemed to just keep adding and adding and adding color to it?!?!  Well this is mine.  Of course balloons can't all be the same color...so we did it up right and used 9 different ink pads!

I wanted to use some of the special stamps that coordinated inside the balloons.  Since I wanted the hues to be rich, I didn't want to stamp off to get the two tone effect.  Instead I paired colors together that would look like a tone on tone.  The ones I used together are:  Island Indigo & Pool Party, Calypso Coral & Rose Red, and Wisteria Wonder & Elegant Eggplant.

As you can tell by the mess on my desk, I had plenty of thoughts of what to do with this card.  Sometimes a messy desk is the inspiration for another card!

This card was first created with my nieces (left side).  Funny enough, Abigail picked most of the colors....of course I tweaked them a little bit to make sure they looked good.

When we did the card with my nieces, we didn't use the piercing pad under the paper.  As you can see on the yellow balloon, there's a weird circle on it.  With larger solid colored photopolymer stamps, it's best to use this pad under neath to get a sharper image.  They don't have that extra cushioning like on the rubber stamps so this helps with that.

PEEK A BOO!

Just wanted to share a project we did at a stamp camp a couple months back.

We created this lovely box using the gift box punch board.  It was very very easy to create.  Then to spice it up, I just added the hat and owl with a glittery boo!

Of course a little pocket hand sanitizer too!

I just love butterflies!  And Island Indigo.  So when I needed to come up with a card, I wanted to use the doily from inside the Spider Web Doilies but I just didn't get the look I wanted.  So my idea to use that totally turned into something else...and of course...if you can use a butterfly it's even better!

This card was made for a shoebox swap I participated in at Convention in Salt Lake City.  My friend and I both attended.  She created a card where we needed to cut the butterfly out.  I thought...what are we going to do with 42 butterflies?  WHY...USE THEM, of course.  So I created a card using the butterfly cutout.  LOVE IT!  It's so simple.
