During a recent Facebook Live, I was discussing the new Hey Birthday Chick and Hey Chick bundles that are available. I also was showing some recent scrap pages I created at a retreat...and the idea was sprung...a Hey Birthday Chick set of pages! ENJOY!
First thing I did was figure out my color scheme. I knew I wanted to use as many of the dies as possible. I stamped and cut out all the images and then a few of the extra dies. Also I wanted to keep a neutral background so that my images would POP!
All images were stamped in Memento black ink and then colored using Stampin' Blends primarily with a few Stampin' Write Markers.
A few tips I wanted to share:
1) I wanted to color all the Gorgeous Grape cardstock shimmery with the Wink Of Stella pen. Since I was using a large block mat on the one side, I layed out the pictures and marked them. Then I colored shimmer on the spaces that would show.
2) When adhering smaller items with Tombow Multipurpose Glue, cover it with a block to keep it pressed down without getting your fingers all sticky.
3) To make you shape larger, cut it in half and then use a piece to keep them aligned. Then I added a banner over the top of the opening.
Along the bottom of my pages, I added some dimension with a ripped bottom. This also has the chicken feet die randomly across it. The fence and chicken coop were also cut out in the same Sahara Sand color. Everything was given a sponged over tone on tone look to bring out the embossing. In the background, I used a cut out piece of the chicken wire die (use a sturdy piece...like foil paper) and added sponging over the top to add depth to my background.
When you have an image that didn't quite cut out perfectly, just hide the really bad part under a picture. Still really cute!
Check out this full two page spread. Of course by bestie loved these pages and wanted me to create her a set as well. I'm not sure yet. A lot of work but for surely super duper cute. And it's all Stampin' Up! product. Just to show it's not just for card making.
Don't forget, if you order either the Hey Birthday Chick or Hey Chick bundle before the end of Feb 2021, you will get a FREE PDF file with projects to recreate with instructions plus bonus iteas.
I hope you enjoyed my creation! As always, happy stampin'!
Have a great day! -Elizabeth
