Not So Scary Slimline Wedding Card

I just love to mix and match my designer series papers.  And right now during the sale, get it while you can at an additional 15% off!  For this card I used the Magic in This Night DSP which is a Halloween paper!  I also tried the new "slimline" card as well...so this card was all sorta FUN!

Here are all the designs in the Magic In This Night DSP.  Trust me...so not just Halloween! There are subtle halloween images on one side and the other is usable for whatever you have in mind.

For my card, I used the black and white designs.  Of course, I wanted a bright and bold color to coordinate, so I added Magenta Madness...wowzers.

Well Said stamp set with the Well Written dies was a perfect combination for this card.  We utilized the numerous different sayings as well as a couple of the 24 different dies.  This combination allows you to create pretty much any saying needed!

For the embellishment, I cut an image out of the Flowers for Every Season Memories & More Card Pack.  This easy trick only requires a pair of scissors :)  I layered the cut out and added WINK OF STELLA (an absolute must!).

Adding some texture with an embossing folder and ribbon goes a long way to bring the dimension to this card.  Even though there's only 3 colors, it's a lively card!

Card Dimensions:
Base:  7 x 8 1/2 inches scored at 3 1/2 inches
Black mat: 3 1/4 x 8 1/4 inches   I punched my black circle from this mat
Black Embossed: 1 x 3 1/4 inches
DSP: 2 1/2 x 3 1/8 inches    &   5 5/8 x 3 1/8 inches

Pretty Poinsettia

Today's inspiration came from the crazy WISCONSIN whether.  Those of you who don't know how it goes...on Thursday...the sun was shining so bright.  THEN...rain...ugh...I can handle that.  So then it was overcast...and THEN it started to snow.  And I don't mean just a little snow...it was HUGE flakes!  So very pretty...if it was DECEMBER but it's still October...I want autumn...not winter.

None the less...I got this new BUNDLE:  Poinsettia Petals and dies.  AMAZING!  Seriously...so much detail and layers that you can make anything look awesome.

If you'd like, you can check out how this card came to inspiration on my FB Live.  You can find this video by going to Facebook:  FB Live 10.15.2020
or by visiting YouTube: FB Live 10.15.2020 YouTube

One of the things we discussed was our "not so favorite" color from Stampin' Up!  Well mine was Shaded Spruce.  So as we started creating the second card of the night...when I grabbed the Poinsettia Petals stamp set, they encouraged me to use Shaded Spruce...so I accepted this challenge.  Below you'll see how I added more of this colors to my card.

Our Stampin' Blends are so great!  You can take this Very Vanilla Gold Edge ribbon and color it whatever color you'd like with these BLENDS!  They dry so quickly too!

Another trick I showed, especially with these dies, was to use a little washi tape to keep the embossing die together with the cutting die.  You don't need much, just across one end of the dies...and they will stay in place perfectly...emboss and cut in one crank through.  Oh and have I mentioned how much I absolutely love the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine?!?!  Well I do... it is so slick...I have named it "The Machine"  (use authority when you say it).

Of course to add dimension, I used the wood plank embossing folder too.  The Poinsettia was created using gold heat embossing on Rich Razzleberry and Blackberry Bliss.

Here's both cards I created.  Dimensions are below in inches:
Thick Whisper White:  5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4
Blackberry Bliss: Mat 4 3/8 x 3 3/8  (use this for your large poinsettia also)
Shaded Spruce: Embossed 4 1/4 x 3 1/4
Rich Razzleberry & Gold Foil:  Scrap pieces
