Playing with Winter Woods & Ornate Greetings

I didn't expect to be playing around with a stamp set that has carried over from the "old" catalogs, but I had an idea...and even though my original idea didn't turn out like planned...I still love the way these two cards turned out.

DRYBRUSH WOOD-MOUNT BACKGROUND STAMPIn case you missed it, I made these cards on Facebook Live show dated 6.9.2020.  It was a show just like others where I didn't have a plan and we worked together to come up with this awesome card.  Inspiration for this card came from the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog.  Even though our end result didn't turn out anything like there's...that's okay!  To the right is the catalog sample I saw and thought...hey..that looks neato.

Here's the first card that we made.  I wanted to make a background, and didn't have that awesome background stamp in he sample.  So I looked at the stamp set I had and settled on the Winter Woods set.  I love the tree imagery in this set and decided to use that for my background.  I stamped it in Mint Macron and Pool Party.  After I stamped it, I went over the top of the image...hoping to create a "wash" or a blend, but it didn't.  So we left it as is...which I loved as well.

The cardstock for the background was shimmer white...which I absolutely love.  It sorta reminds me of when you catch the sunshine coming through the trees... the ever so slightly glow.

After stamping the images and going over with the blend filled with water, it added just a slight hue change.

Next we stamped using the awesome words in Ornate Thanks stamp set.  I love this set as it has multiple fonts.  It really makes your words stand out when you have two different fonts in the greeting....plus you can mix and match for a greeting that works for you!

I did grab a die from the Ornate Layers Dies set.  And finally used the "tie" trick to add my ribbon.  The white ribbon from the Flowers for Every Season Ribbon Combo Pack was the perfect accessory.

This stamp set goes to show you that you don't need to use it just for WINTER type crafts.

As always...I hope you enjoyed this little recap of the card.  And if you have any questions or concern, reach out to me!  Have a great day!
