"Do more of what makes you happy" is the saying on my card. How appropriate? I mean doesn't everyone want to do things that make them happy? How many times do we do things that we don't want to do? ALOT! How many times do you take time out for you? My answer....as much as I can! Yes yes, I know, I don't want to sound shellfish, but really, why not?
Many times I heard people talking about how they wish they had more time to scrap book or read. Why don't you have time? I mean, I work 30 plus hours a week at the hospital and another 27 at school. I attend mostly all of my children's home games too. Yet I find....or should I say...I make the time to do the things I love....play volleyball, scrap book, watch movies, and spend time with my family. It's all about how you arrange your day. SO PLEASE, do more of what makes you HAPPY!
For the card, I used daffodil delight & melon mambo cardstock, silver foil paper, and window sheets. I used black embossing powder with a few dazzling diamonds in the mix for the greeting on the clear window sheet. Then using the melon mambo blendability marker, I colored on the backside to enhance "happy." I wanted to do this on the window sheet because I needed that awesome silver foil chevron embossed background to show through. To add a little color to the card, I added the daffodil delight chevron ribbon and tied it at the top with the melon mambo and silver ribbons. To add a little more bling, I added Rhinestones to the bottom of the ribbon.
Here's just the two elements without the pops of color. It's cool but I really think the color enhances the awesome heat embossing and dry embossing techniques. One thing I want to share, when heat embossing on window sheets, make sure you lay your item flat and hover with the heat. If you heat too long in one place, it will warp your window sheet. So if you hover and go over the whole sheet instead of focusing in one area, your result will be better.
