More Work of Art

Oh I JUST LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS STAMP SET!!!

It's the Work of Art Stamp Set!   Can I get a round of applause please?!?!   Anyone who has had the pleasure to work with this stamp set knows of it's awesome abilities!  It's so easy and versatile that everyone will want it!  You'll never need another set again....well that's not true but ya know how sellin' goes :)

I start by figuring out which colors I'd like to use and if I have any coordinating accessories.  Whoo hoo, I do.  I have the thick baker's twine!  I'm really lovin' this product as the old twine just wasn't thick enough to stand out on the card.

This is my work space.  As you can tell, the card is finished....lots of stampin' off the paper to get the right hues.  I like to keep my cutter right there, so I can chop something down if it's too long or not the right proportions.  I wish we still carried this cutter :( 

Above are my color selections!  Aren't they lovely?!?  I think the basic black just ties them all in.

Below you can see the finished project.  We used the background stamps to create this lovely flower.  And of course you can't have flowers without a little bling!

Work of Art Wood Mount

A Little Kindness :)

This set I received at convention.  I'm not really a fan of sets with multiple different pieces.  I usually like sets of all butterflies or background pieces.  But this set I really do enjoy.  I especially love the "starburst" stamp that will just make anything stand out.  The Kinda Eclectic Wood Mount is very versatile.  I just love butterflies as well so when you get two different size coordinating butterflies in one stamp set, it's AWESOME!  I always have to add a bit of bling to my butterflies too!

The bling is a perfect way to showcase the butterflies without having them stand out too much.  Plus with the Rhinestones it's so easy to add just a touch of bling.

I used 3 of the 5 of 2014-2016 In Colors.  I just love to see the fresh colors every season.  I know that I hear not so nice words sometimes about these in colors, but the truth is, we need them!  Without these colors, our other 40 colors will get dull and faded in our eyes.  Just like your clothes....you need to refresh things and what easier way than to introduce 5 new colors every year.  Of course, they do stick around for 2 years, so you have plenty of time to use them!

As you can see a little kindness does go a long way!  I hope you enjoyed!

What adorable TRIPLETS YOU HAVE!

I just love little love notes!  And the new baby set, Something for Baby, is a must have for these love notes!  I wanted to make some great little gift notes that would be great in gift bags with little clothes or toys in.  And of course, we need a variety...not everyone has boys like I do :)

The colors I decided on where all of the Subtles collection.  I don't really find myself using these colors alot and I was so happy to be playing with them!  

This stamp set has so many different baby items it was hard to choose which ones I wanted to use!  I decided to use the tie for boy, the flower for the girl, and bib for the neutral cards.  Then I had to figure out what other item I wanted these to accent.  Of course the buggy is way too cute not to use.

I stamped all the "background" images in the Sahara Sand.  I then stamped by tie, flower, and bib onto a piece of scrap white.  This set is so awesome it has FRAMELITS to go with it!  No cutting out these, just stamp and use the framelits with the big shot.  I cut all 3 at once!

Here's the finished products.  I didn't have any ribbon to coordinate with my colors so I just used a marker and colored the white twine.  I just think these are so stinkin' cute.  And now I have 3 cute little note cards ready for a little baby.

SOMETHING FOR BABY STAMP SET

WE KNOW HOW TO PARTY!

Every year, things just get better!  I was very impressed this year with the After Party that Stampin' Up! threw for all us wonderful demonstrators!  This year the theme was "County Fair."  I would have love it if they would have shared that with us before I packed and left....I had the perfect dress and boots I would have worn.  But none the less, we had a GREAT TIME!!!

Of course you have to get a picture in front of the sign.  Everyone thinks I'm crazy....but how often do you get the stand behind a huge lit up arrow?!!?

 My first adventure once inside turned out to be the BULL!  At first when I heard there would be a mechanical bull I thought, "No way am I going to do that!"  But once I got there and saw how "kind" the operator was being, I jumped right in.  And it was so much fun!    Not sure if you can tell that by my picture or not!

 

Next it was off to get my face painted.  This line took forever!  But it was well worth the wait.

Below you'll see a picture of the supplies!  She was quite the artist and did a great job.  Holly asked her what her favorite thing to do was and she said a dragon.  So Holly got a dragon.  I got a butterfly.  You'll also see our other two room mates below- Stacey and Valerie.  What a great experience that I haven't done since I was a kid!

 And of course it wouldn't be a party without music!  This year I was pleasantly surprised with the band.  Of course you can tell it was mostly country.  One great thing was that they had country line dancers to show us the way and get the party started.  Of course, they were very nice on the eyes as well :)

We were there until the end!  I got a great picture of the whole venue.  Isn't it beautiful?!?  The table decorations were just wonderfully themed as well.

And of course it wouldn't be complete without a picture with cowboy hats!

Use the old...create something NEW!

I had an order for one of my memory tins.  The lady had purchased one from me for her last child and wanted another for this one.  She found out she was having a boy!  Congrats!

Now to make the tin....I was blanking....what to use, what to make.  THEN I remembered, I had an old scrappin' kit that was boy themed.

Wow look at this kit.  Designer Series Paper- check.  Coordinating Card Stock- check.  Self Adhesive Embellishments- Check.  Wow I had it all.  I couldn't believe it.  And look at those cute hand prints and foot prints.   THEN my curiosity got the best of me.  I checked the date.  SEE BELOW PICTURE!

2005!!   JEEPERS that's from when I started being a demonstrator!   WOW!  I really needed to use this kit!

So here's the cover of the Memory Tin.  As you can see I used some ribbon to accent.  I can't believe I even had anything to accent this since it's a retired color.  Isn't it cute.  The stamp set for the words is the "Taffy" alphabet.  I've stamped that saying many times!

Here's the inside of the tin.  ON the top:  There are two cards in the back of the lid.  They're labeled "Hand Print and Foot Print"  These cards you take right with you to the hospital and if they're nice enough, they'll do the prints for you there.  In front of the cards are little envelopes.  These will be labeled "Hospital Bracelet" and "Lock of Hair."  AWWWEEEE!

Then in the bottom you have the cover to the photo album. I have 13 clear envelopes in the bottom.  And then, when you open it up, I put in the bottom part of the opening, a card where you can write special events, moments, etc., on to keep things fresh for the whole first year of their life.

Day 2 Convention: Part 1 :)

Did I mention before how wonderful it is to be in a place where so many people share your same interest?

I'm just blown away that I can hang out with people where my use of odd descriptive words like Real Red or Night of Navy to talk about someone's color shirt is praised upon.

I'm also intrigued by how many ladies have different organizational things for their swaps and such.  I'm a horrible general swapper.  What's a general swapper you say?  It's when you make swaps (usually just card fronts--one or two designs and lots of them) to "swap" with anyone and everyone just standing around.  Two reasons I don't like general swapping.  1)  I don't like to carry extra stuff with me.  I know it's going to me a long fun day and I don't want my shoulder and feet hurting.  2)  I like to be specific to items I want in return.  I like to know if I'm looking for birthday card ideas, that's what I'm going to get.

As you can see, it gets more crowded the closer we get to action time.  This is right before our general opening session on Day 2.  It's always a great way to get fired up!

Yep that's me!  Every year they have a lovely backdrop where you "hopefully" get a picture taken with Shelli Gardner.  Well I missed having my picture taken with her, but I did get this lovely shot in front of the paper flowers :)  Yes I know...that's so me anyways.

This is one of my roommates, Holly.  She's from Illinois (just 10 minutes from the WI border).  We stopped for a quick bite to eat at Maggianos (spelling doesn't count...lol).  We just ordered appetizers.  She got calamari...YUCK!  But when she ordered it, I had to tell her a little story about my experience with octopus.  I was out snowmobiling with my Dad and Mom and many other people.  We stopped at a small town and had some supper.  They had a sea food buffet....YUCK again!  Well knowing that I didn't like that stuff, my Dad told me that they had chicken on the buffet for those who didn't like sea food...you know us picky kids.  So I took some "chicken strips".  I took one bite and said, "These taste funny."  And then the whole gang burst out laughing.  Yeah...of course it wasn't chicken...it was calamari.  YUCK!  To this day, I still get teased from my dad and everyone else.

Here's the other two appetizers we ordered.  I had spicy meatballs and then we shared mozzarella wrapped in prosciutto.  It was my first time having this wonderful meat...and I'd have it again!  YUMMY!
